With the 2014 opening of the Sugarloaf Mills store, it marked the unveiling of Shoney's new prototype for its restaurants.  The new store format features more upscale design elements.  New operational features include a full-service bar with flat screen TVs.  After the successful completion and opening of the Sugarloaf location, the company in 2016 completed the Shoney's Acworth (Georgia, US) location.  It is a freestanding, single-use property and is also of the new prototypical format.
