Located in affluent South DeKalb County, the Southwest DeKalb Performing Arts Building is a 67,000 square foot addition to the Southwest DeKalb High School campus.  The state-of-the-art facility, which opened in August, 2014, includes a 600 seat auditorium with complete digital multimedia, lighting, and sound systems, a large glass-enclosed atrium, 40 (additional) classrooms and arts labs, 15+ sound-proof audition rooms; large band/music practice room with 14 foot folding door; which opens to an outdoor amphitheater.   In addition to being a facility for arts-related and formal School functions, the Southwest DeKalb Performing Arts Building also hosts community, regional, and state level events.
